Ahliah School | AUST Ninth Math and Science Olympiad Participation and Results

Ahliah School was represented by five of grade 10LP students at the Math and Science Olympiad at AUST in its ninth edition that took place on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at the university campus in Achrafieh. The students Amani Al Abyad, Omar Berjawi and Rami Hjeij formed the team of Mathematics and competed on an individual level and in a group tournament. Amani Al Abyad was qualified among 15 other students to round two of the individual competition. Ahliah School ranked 6thin the group competition. Lynn Doughan and Nour Hijazi formed the Science team and competed against other teams in a treasure hunt competition that included hints and clues to determine the answers on questions and topics related to science. The students enjoyed the competition and were supporting each other as a team throughout the day. Math coordinator and teacher Ms. Salam Khalil, who accompanied the students, also participated in a challenge that was organized for teachers. 

The results of the competition were as follows:

            1.    Ahliah Science Team won Second Prize

2.    Ahliah Team won Best Poster competition representing the life of a Lebanese Mathematician or Scientist, Ahliah students chose Hasan Kamel Al Sabbah. 

3.    Ms. Salam Khalil, won the second place in the competition that took place amongst teachers.
