Volunteering is an essential part of preparing students to take responsibility as citizens of their local community and as global citizens. While engaging in community service, students have the opportunity to see first-hand how much their work can have an impact on the world around them. They have the opportunity to interact with people who have vastly different backgrounds, and learn patience and empathy as they develop a global perspective

Ahliah School partnered with Dar Al Ajaza where Grade 11 students organized an entertaining event which included dancing, singing and distributing juice and cake for the elderlies. The objectives of this community service event are:

-          Spreading joy and happiness to the hearts of the elderlies

-          Enhance elderlies motor skills through dancing and moving

-          Acquire awareness concerning elderlies’ needs

-          Enhance the students’ sense of responsibility by organizing their time and skills

-          Enhance students’ sense of respect and empathy

-          Show the positive impact of the help they offer as little as it may seem

-          Enhance students’ sense of responsibility to the local and global community

-          Acquire life skills and knowledge and become active members of the community

The visit took place on the 3rd of February from 10:30 Am to 12:00 PM Despite it being their first experience at Dar Al Ajaza, our students did an astonishing job putting a smile on the residents faces and creating an incredibly lively and positive environment; they were conversing, getting to know each other, sharing their experiences and wisdom and even singing and dancing together!

This visit left the students with a sense of accomplishment and honour. It was one of a kind and memorable experience!
