Ahliah School has recently held another Choir event over two consecutive days of joy and pride. Continuing with its Centennial celebrations and maintaining its ever growing standards, Ahliah Choir has wonderfully launched its first Children’s Album with the title “Ahliah Sings Rose Ghorayeb”.
The Cover Album recorded by the one and only Ahliah Choir, consists of students between the ages of 8-12 years and is managed by our Music teacher Ms. Rana Samaha, recorded the music Album from the songs of the legendary author Rose Ghorayeb. The entire album is composed of Arabic songs in the aim to motivate and encourage our children to keep and practice the Arabic language. Ahliah School believes that it is through Art and Music that such a cause can be achieved, in addition to the educational and disciplinary benefits that our children can learn from such as learning languages, speaking clearly, developing their vocabulary, learning good behaviours, developing their skills and creativity, gaining confidence and countless valuable advantages.
On the day of the event, the members of the Choir performed all the songs live along with a play also written by Rose Ghorayeb (and inspired from a book by the great Gibran Khalil Gibran) called “The Ambitious violet”. The two-days event brought great happiness and excitement not only amongst the children who have not stopped singing those songs since, but also to the older audience who relived their childhood years.
Several media channels, newspapers, magazines and bloggers were present covering this successful night; interviews, press releases, magazine articles and photographs can be found on our social media platforms, make sure to visit us on there.
Lastly and most importantly, we believe that this one Album can be the start to achieving our goal and mission, which we aspire to share to keep our Native language alive and spread the word in the society amongst all educational institutions, organisations, and the intellectual and influential members of our society.
Ahliah School would like to thank all beloved members of the Choir and their parents for their commitment and diligent effort for realizing this project.
We would also like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to Trustees Najla Hamadeh, Huda Zurayk, Jean Makdissi and Fadia Jeha for their great support and help throughout the entire process of making this project a reality.
Finally, our most sincere and special thanks to our talented and hard-working Music teacher Ms. Rana Samaha for training the students, arranging the songs, and executing a successful performance.
